A Woman's Work is Never Done

Elizabeth Andrews was born in 1882 and spent most of her life in the valleys of the Rhondda. She was a relentless and committed campaigner on the needs of working class women from these mining communities. She was a miner's daughter and so shared their lives, spoke their language and voiced their hopes and fears. In 1919, she was appointed the Labour Party Woman Organiser for Wales, a post that she held for 29 years.
