How do I order books?

You can search using the Search box at the top left. Search by title, ISBN, SKU (product number) or author.

Please remember that we only deal in books currently in print which are available new in the UK. We do not supply secondhand books or import books.

If you asked us to find you a book we will have told you when to expect delivery. If you have ordered from the website then delivery will be as in the next paragraph.

Publishers vary in the time they take to process orders. For orders in stock, we offer next working day dispatch. If we can't, we aim to deliver your order within around 5 working days.

If we are told by the publisher that there will be any delay to their normal supply time we will contact you by email and inform you.

How can I pay for my book order?

You can pay for books on our site by credit/debit card etc via the Checkout. For other books, you can do the same by sendng us details of what you want. We will need a UK contact phone number for you to give us the card details, include your billing address and the CVV number. You may also pay by cash, cheque, by asking your bank to transfer funds to our bank account or by UK postal order.

Telephone orders by card are accepted on 0871 663 4678 or 01202 653392 - leave your name and address (must be the address registered on the card), details of the book isbn and your card details. Include the CV2 number (the last 3 numbers on the signature strip on the back of the card).

Our Security Check Policy

Note that we may contact you by email or phone as a security check if a telephone order is placed for confirmation your card is not being used fraudulently. We may also do this if the delivery address differs from the address given for yourself.

If you wish to pay by bank transfer, we will let you have the relevant bank details on request.

How are books dispatched?

Books are normally sent direct to you 1st class or by courier (over 1kg) from the warehouse. Where books are not sent from the warehouse because we obtain them specially we use normal UK first class post for UK purchases and Royal Mail International airmail services for sending items outside the UK.

What books can you supply?

We will supply books published or available in the UK that are available from the publisher.

What happens if I place an order and pay and you then find you can no longer supply the book?

Sometimes between the time we quote you a price and our placing your subsequent order with the publisher (which includes the time for you to order and pay) a book will become unavailable, e.g. by going out of print. In this case any money you have paid will be promptly refunded back to your card, or, if you prefer, by transfer of funds to your bank.

When do I have to pay?

If you order from the website you will pay when you reach the Checkout.If instead you ask us about supplying a book we will trace it for you. We will then contact you saying that we can supply you and quoting a price. If you wish to go ahead you should make payment at that point.
